THE START OF A SUCCESSFUL

path does not necessarily sparkle as bright as the dream we have in our back pocket. Building a strong backbone sometimes starts at the bottom.

“Right before I went off to college in London, my family literally lost everything. Home, cars, all the things. And I thought, ‘Am I going to be able to go to school?’”

FACING THE CURRENT VOID

within the mountain before her, Rachel K. Grim leveraged the experience with scholarships and hard work and was able to attend college.

“I knew I wanted to do something with fashion and beauty–something totally dynamic and inspiring for women.”

As she battled the financial aspect, her perseverance didn’t let up.






“It was a struggle to be there to begin with. I remember being surrounded by success and wealth and this high end lifestyle. And I told myself, someday I’m going to come back here and I’m going to be able to do these things for myself that I can’t do now.”

Rachel began building her business career by branching away from a stable job and into a vision that only she could see at the time.

“The early stages of building my business were really difficult. Those that I love didn’t understand why I was trying to do this. They’re like, ‘This is crazy, why are you quitting this stable job?’”

Rachel’s confident, confectious personality propelled her forward onto a path that is now her current success. Not only does she participate in the content creator/PR side of advertising brands, but she also coaches and mentors other women who are interested in building their own business career from the ground up. Aside from her page ‘Rachel Grim’, ‘Ditch the Clique’ was born in 2019 out of a desire to build upon her current passion by networking brands that mimic similar energy to her vision.

Every relationship I’m in, the work I do, every piece of content I put out there is meant to be exactly that–to boost your confidence and make you feel like you’re capable of living the life you desire; not only capable, but worthy of it."

ONE OF RACHEL'S BIGGEST CHALLENGES SHE HAS PERSONALLY SEEN THROUGH WAS 'FAITH NOT SIGHT'.

“The concept falls with people believing in me or me believing in myself even if I don’t see the results right away. For Ditch the Clique, I didn’t see the results right away. But now I realize four years later the growth I have experienced would not be here had it not been for what I did in 2019. And 2019 me couldn’t see what this growth is, but now she’s mind blown and she’s doing it.”

Aside from the contagious energy and positivity driving her business to the top, the dreamer side of her was what bridged much of her success, as that side of her is unafraid to step out of her comfort zone and into something bigger.

"I think taking big risks has gotten me to where I am but also is going to get me where I want to be. Doing things when people tell you it’s not the easiest, smartest way is often what brings you the greatest reward, growth, and people in your life. I want to continue to challenge myself and everyone that’s either consuming this interview or those that are in my circle to take risks and do the things that are uncomfortable and hard. It is always, always worth it, and you won’t regret that, but you will regret not doing it.”
